Successful Fundraising Event on September 29, 2024 Raises Funds for Little Sisters of the Poor in Mysore

Our Mysore Home Fete was blest with many miracles!  The first being that the night before the FETE there was a heavy rain fall throughout the night.  When we got up in the morning the rain was still falling heavily and some wondered if it would be possible to go ahead with our FETE. However, as usual, all the Little Sisters stormed heaven with their prayers to St. Joseph, who as usual did not let us down.  By 7 a.m. the Sun began to shine brightly and throughout the day we had a very pleasant weather right up until 7 p.m. in the evening when once again, after the FETE was over, the rain fell abundantly.  Thank you St. Joseph!

Before The Entrance Gate to the Home was opened at 9 a.m. the Stalls had all been blest by our Chaplain.  After a prayer, a young girl, Rithika, played her violin to the tune of Showers of Blessings, the ribbon was cut by a member of our organizing committee, Sophie, our Advocate, and a beautiful white dove was released for blessings of peace on our program!

In our front garden, many food stalls had been prepared by our friends and benefactors: chicken biryani, chicken kbab, Sanna & Pork, Puri (made on the spot) with chicken/ channa , hot doasais, pizza, ice cream cool drinks  and a variety of bake goods from our Home kitchen.  Many games were sponsored and animated by different schools that attracted a lot of children.  In the auditorium we had three main items: used clothing, handicraft works of our aged,   along with the famous LUCKY CIP that attracted a great crowd.  Besides all this, there were special bigger gifts won by a LUCKY DRAW number at the close of the day, sponsored by different  benefactors.

The animator of the day was Mr. Anthony, our faithful friend who leads our Sunday Kannada choir.  His voice along with lots of music was in itself an entertainment for everyone!

The visitors and patrons of the day flowed into the Home grounds abundantly all through the day and included, many different religious Congregations along with our Parish Priest and his Assistants.  It was a joy to welcome them all and they also were happy to meet us and one another.  The atmosphere of the entire day was one of joy and fellowship!  We thank God for this beautiful day and for blessing us with good weather, along with the knowledge of being supported by so many friends and benefactors.  May God bless all of them!
