26th July 2022
Every year, July 26th is set aside to celebrate the feast of our Residents. The day began with the Eucharistic celebration offered for the Residents and their families. The celebrant was Rev. Father Augustine Lourdu ofm. The Mass began with the solemn entrance procession in which some ladies and men took part.
In the afternoon an entertainment program was organised. The invited guests were Mr. N.A. Haris, Doctor Begum, Doctor Mallika (Dentist), Doctor Sarojini, Mrs. Usha Murali and Ms. Aaradhana.
The program began at 4 pm. The guests were honoured with a shawl and a bouquet of flowers for their devoted service to our Residents especially during the pandemic and all throughout the year. Then a few of our Residents too were honoured by the guests with a shawl. Mr. Joe Louis and his team performed a musical program. One of the team members sang a beautiful song, "I am only human."
After that the entertainment program began with the dance of our employees, followed by a graceful dance performed by the novices who did their internship over here. Then two cute children danced with great enthusiasm. Then once again the employees took the stage for two more dances.
We also honoured Shanthi, one of our employees who was retired and who served the Home for many years.
The program ended by the speech of Mr. Haris, MLA. He encouraged the Residents to be happy and joyful in the Home and he appreciated the service rendered by the Little Sisters to the aged.
All of us had a lovely day thanking God for the gift of our Residents and for all our generous friends and benefactors who are so thoughtful of our elderly people.
