The Grandparents Day was very grand at Little Sisters of the Poor, in St. Joseph’s Home in Kolkata. The day began with the Eucharistic celebration by Archbishop Thomas D’Souza highlighting the role of grandparents and the elders. The lunch was sponsored by Kenilworth Hotel. Every year they sponsor a sumptuous meal for the residents day. This year our Main dining room was beautifully set up. All the residents of the Home came together for lunch. The infirm and the able ones formed one large family to enjoy the delicious meal. Day was not over. At 3 Pm the Multipurpose hall was turned into super shopping Mall. There were many stalls filled with everything you can imagine of. One of our friends provided an attractive shopping bag for each Resident as they entered the hall. All the items of the shopping Mall were donated by our benefactors. As the Residents completed their shopping they were invited for a cup of Masala Tea and homemade onion bhaji in the dining room which they enjoyed. It was a beautiful day indeed for one and all.
